🔥Hot Take🔥 (But it shouldn’t be) True interdisciplinary and collaborative care is something you should be able to SEE! Not just hear about in an interview or read in a blurb on a website. 🤓 Thank you Alyssa Hay, MA CCC-SLP for providing a training on childhood apraxia of speech to our K1ds Count Therapy, LLC BCBA team yesterday morning! Our BAs learn from our outpatient clinicians (ST, OT, PT, MH) on different topics each month. How cool is that?! We are never done learning, but especially learning about how to incorporate and carry over each discipline’s expertise with every KCT client. 💥 You should see a child’s AAC device used in OT, PT, MH, and ABA sessions! 💥 You should see a BCBA collaborating with an OT on ADL goals! 💥 You should see ABA working on *developmentally*-appropriate communication goals in collaboration with the child’s SLP! 💥 You should see sensory schedules/toolkits/diets used in ABA, recommended per the OT! This should be the universal standard of care!
